Hope
We meet each person with compassion and believe renewal is always possible.
Learn more about Pobal Mhuire, why we exist, and how we support women on the journey from addiction to renewal.
Our mission is to provide a Catholic response to the challenges faced by many people in relation to drug addiction, anxiety, and other difficulties. We seek to help each person experience the healing power of Christ through the intercession of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
We offer refuge, accompaniment, and practical support, grounded in faith and community. Addiction impacts not only the individual, but also children, families, and entire communities; our work exists to restore dignity and rebuild lives through compassionate care and a clear pathway forward.
“An Pobal Mhuire” can be understood as the community of Mary. Our name reflects a commitment to care, faith, and service, and to being present where hope is needed most.
In Clashmore, we are building a place for healing, recovery, and new beginnings, supported by our wider community and all those who stand with this mission.
Rooted in faith, expressed through care, and lived through community.
We meet each person with compassion and believe renewal is always possible.
Recovery is strengthened through belonging, accountability, and supportive relationships.
Every person deserves respect, safety, and a path toward a meaningful life.
We listen without judgement and treat every person with gentleness and respect.
The people behind the mission A mission carried by many hands, united by faith, service, and care.
Spiritual guidance, local support, volunteers, and faith partners all help carry the work of Pobal Mhuire. Together, they make space for accompaniment, hospitality, practical care, and hope.
The mission is strengthened by the wider Catholic community, including the Diocese of Waterford & Lismore and the SSVM, and by those who choose to stand beside women and families on the path to renewal.
We are the community of Mary. We are Pobal Mhuire.
