A message from our Patron

In the course of my life I have met people who have been totally transformed by the healing of Christ.

Of course Christ is continually pouring his graces upon us, but for some that healing is total and dramatic. I have met people whose lives had been totally broken by addiction. Many such people. So often there was a wound in the family which manifested itself in destructive behaviour in one or more of the children who turned to smoking, then to alcohol and often to hard drugs and crime. Their lives were one long downward spiral. Then by a grace of God they met someone who managed to speak to their hearts and bring them hope and welcomed them into a community of care and concern which was centred around the person of Jesus Christ and his healing Sacraments. They began to discover that their lives could be turned around and for some that is what happens. Others are still on the journey. Others don’t make it.

In Ireland today we need places like Pobal Mhuire where our young people can find those communities of care and concern and get their lives back.

I pray for the success of Pobal Mhuire and sincerely congratulate all who have the dream of making it a reality.
